West Midlands Colleges Stand Together Against Racism

We, the further education colleges across the West Midlands, vehemently denounce the recent outburst of violent racism and Islamophobia and we condemn any form of racism or hate crime. Collectively and individually, we stand for fairness, equity, tolerance and respect and we actively support community cohesion in our local areas and across the region.

We want our students and staff to know that:

v They have a safe place where they can feel welcome, respected and enabled to thrive and better their prospects
v They can raise concerns about racism and discrimination and that we will listen, discuss and provide support
v They are protected by a suite of college policies and procedures that tackle racism and any form of discrimination and that there are serious consequences for any person in breach of these rules
v We will work with the police and law enforcement agencies to deal with any criminal offences including hate crime and violence.

Together we can beat racism!
