New Year, New You?

If you are thinking about your future and want to try something different, why not consider a course at Fircroft? Read on to find out more.

Christmas – good or bad?

Christmas can bring moments of joy, sadness and many emotions in between. Although it is universally celebrated, it still ends up being a unique experience for us.  Once the street lights are up and on, Christmas trees stand beautifully in shops, restaurants and house windows, sparkling and flashing everywhere we walk, cycle or drive and those Christmas tunes are piped around our local shops, that’s where the similarity ends.  Traditionally it is a time for families to come together, harmoniously, and share their love for each other, perhaps capturing the happy times on camera or video as feel-good memories to look back on fondly.  But we know that many people do not have the luxury of sharing that experience and Christmas can be a tough time with extra pressures, stress, inconvenience and services that are still needed over the holiday period being inaccessible and many parts of our world put on hold until January.  Perhaps your mood, family and/or home situation, physical health, concern for others, lack of finances or just a dislike of this time of year, prevents you from celebrating.

Friendly and Supportive

Whatever your Christmas experience, if you are thinking about your future at the beginning of this new year, how you could make what may seem impossible right now, become possible, take a look at our courses.  We understand that, particularly if you have been out of education for some time or didn’t have a good relationship with education the first time around (it happens!), you might need a confidence boost.  Going back into the classroom, meeting new people, being guided by college staff and following college rules (and knowing the rules) can seem overwhelming.  At Fircroft we do everything we possibly can to make you feel at ease from day one. We offer a friendly, mature environment where we will help you to get to know how the college ticks, what you can expect from us, what we expect from you and how you can get the very best out of your time learning with us. We even have lots of personal and social development courses that can help boost your confidence and wellbeing.
