This course is useful if you are interested in supporting others . You may already be working or volunteering in this area and want to develop your knowledge and skills further, or new to this work and wanting to develop more.  

The course focuses on enhancing your understanding of PTSD, equipping you with essential skills to effectively support individuals with PTSD, and providing you with a range of resources for ongoing professional development. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical exercises, and interactive discussions, you will gain the necessary tools to offer empathetic, informed, and compassionate support to individuals with PTSD.

During this course we will cover:

  • Introduction to PTSD.
  • Trauma Informed approaches.
  • Communication & Active listening.
  • Supporting emotional regulation.
  • Building resilience and coping skills.
  • Collaboration and referral. Self-care for workers

Entry Requirements

You must be working at Level 1 Literacy or above

You must have the emotional well-being capable of discussing different types of abuse is needed.
