This course is for anyone wishing to work or volunteer with adults who may have a diagnosis.

This course is ideal if you wish to gain a deeper understanding about both conditions, or if you are living with either condition yourself or a family member.

This course will provide you with an understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Students will explore the characteristics, diagnosis, and neurodevelopmental aspects of these conditions, strategies for supporting individuals with autism and ADHD,

On successful completion of this course, you may be able to progress into voluntary or paid employment to work with adults or children. You may wish to pursue further courses that relate to a other conditions that affect mental or physical health to continue to develop your knowledge.

During this course you will:

  • Gain knowledge of the key features and diagnostic criteria of autism spectrum disorder and ADHD.
  • Understand the neurodevelopmental aspects and underlying causes of autism and ADHD.
  • Explore the diverse profiles and experiences of individuals with autism and ADHD.
  • Consider strategies for supporting individuals with autism and ADHD
