The study of crime and deviance holds a major interest for many people interested in the causes of crime and its impact on individuals and communities. This course will give you a deeper understanding of what constitutes a crime and deviance and some of the key explanations that seek to understand the root cause of criminal behaviour.
You will engage in research examining the difference between psychopaths and sociopaths, and how such categories adapt. We will also examine the relationship between new technologies and how these have resulted in new types of crime emerging.
