This Award highlights the need to change and innovate, particularly at the moment when the world of work is changing rapidly in many ways. On this course you will identify the drivers, opportunities and risks for your specific organisation. You will develop a change implementation plan, and alongside that a sound understanding of how you can maintain the performance and motivation of your team.

This Award is a great opportunity for you to step away from your working life for 2 weekends and really reflect on your situation and your skills as a manager.

We will cover 2 units and achieving both of these leads to the Level 4 Award:

  1. Managing and implementing change in the workplace
  2. Motivating people in the workplace

The course is taught by an experienced manager, using well recognised models and ideas. You will also learn from other students and the different sectors they work in. You become a student member of the Institute of Leadership and Management with access to their professional resources for 6 months.

The areas we will cover include:

  • Why organisations continually need to change
  • How to assess the benefits and risks of implementing specific changes
  • How to monitor and review the implementation of change
  • Theories of motivation relevant to your workplace
  • Principal factors that affect performance and motivation
  • How to evaluate the impact of motivation on performance

By the end of the end of the course you will have:

  • Carried out an environmental and organisational analysis
  • Identified opportunities for change in your organisation
  • Developed a change implementation plan
  • Applied theories of motivation to your workplace and team

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who is currently in a management role (paid or unpaid) or who has previous management experience.

Entry Requirements

  • You need to be currently working in the role of a manager/supervisor/team leader.  Or have previous experience of being in one of these roles and connections with a named organisation you can write about.
  • You will be required to demonstrate you are able to write assignments at a Level 4 standard
  • You will need a computer and internet access outside of your time at the college, to work independently between your weekends and to submit your assignments
