This course will benefit you if you have a particular interest in history and/or you are thinking in the future of doing an Access to Higher Education course.

The course will look at imperialism, what the British Empire was and its effect on the world, why Britain was so powerful and the contributions Britain has made to the world – both positive and negative.

During this course you will learn:

  • How the British Empire started and how large it became
  • What imperialism is
  • A timeline for the British Empire
  • An understanding of why Britain became so powerful
  • Some of the contributions the UK has made to the world
