How to find us
By Bike
The map above shows the quieter routes to cycle to Fircroft. These include the A38 blue cycle route, canals, parks and National Cycle Network route 5.

If you don’t have your own bike, hire one from West Midlands Cycle Hire or Brompton Bike Hire.
At college we can offer you:
- Cycle parking right next to Reception
- Public tool station and covered bike stands through the archway
- A shower room (bring your own towel)
- A drying room (for wet clothes)
By Car
Drivers please note the driveway is slightly concealed and easily missed. Some satnavs will take you to the housing estate at the rear of the College (Kingfisher Way/Selly Wood Road). There is no access to Fircroft from the estate, only via the Bristol Road.
From the M6 take Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction) to the A38M Aston Expressway. Follow it into the City Centre and through the Queensway tunnels to the A38 Bristol Road. Continue south along the Bristol Road for approximately five miles. Drive through Selly Oak, past Sainsbury’s (on your right), and go straight through the traffic lights at the main crossroads.
Approximately half a mile after the crossroads, you will pass Elmfield House on your left. Continue downhill and our entrance on the left very soon after the pedestrian crossing.
From the M42 take Junction 1 (not M42/M5 interchange) or from the M5 north exit at Junction 4. Turn north on to the A38 and follow this for approximately seven miles. You will pass Bournville College and go through Northfield’s shopping area.
Look for an overhead footbridge and Woodbrooke College on the right. On seeing Woodbrooke, immediately move in to the right-hand lane and turn right across the dual carriageway. The entrance to the College is directly opposite the turn.
By Train
From Birmingham City Centre
You can catch a local train from New Street station to Selly Oak station. It is a 20 minute walk to the College or you can catch any of the busses listed above. If you walk, go through the main Selly Oak crossroads with Sainsbury’s on your left. You will pass the Gillett Centre, which is directly next to the Fircroft College entrance/drive.

By Bus
From Birmingham City Centre
You can catch the 61, 63 or X64 buses to the College from St Martin’s Queensway (outside Boots the Chemist in the Bullring, opposite New Street Station). Get off at Weoley Park Road. We are 200m down the hill, away from the city centre. You will walk past the Gillett Centre, after which Fircroft is the next turning on the left.
