The eco-build will be made up of three phases:
- Insight and consultation (Phase 1 – completed)
- Manufacturing/Pre-build planning and construction – this will be covered on this Phase 2 course
- Post-construction, launch event planning and links to community projects – Phase 3 – running in February 2025
You will have the opportunity to work with key partners involved in the build and you will be introduced to people with expert knowledge along the way.
Phase 2
Even if you missed Phase 1, you are very welcome to apply for Phase 2.
This programme will give you the opportunity to take part in an actual eco build. This second part of the programme consists of two 13-hour short courses and will focus on the second phase.
Phase two will cover the following areas:
- Participation in the eco classroom build
- Building a matrix of business/stakeholders to work together towards a common goal
- Eco energy/energy efficiency
- Practical work to improve habitats/increase biodiversity
- Doughnut economics
- Eco build choices and materials purpose
- Using reclaimed materials
- Identifying key supporting stakeholders
- Storytelling session
Eligibility Criteria
This course is for anyone who is interested in the phases of an eco-build and for those who would like to use the skills gathered within their own communities.
You must be working at literacy Level 1
