Fircroft College
Choosing the Right Course
If you’re new to Fircroft we want to make sure you enrol on a course which is challenging, but not too challenging. This will help you get the most out of your learning experience.
Progression Pathway courses are offered at either Entry3/Level 1 (known as Foundation Learning), or at Level 2. Which level you start at depends on a number of factors. Please take a look at this diagram, which should help you to decide whether to start at Entry 3/Level 1 or at Level 2.
If you’re still not sure, you can come to one of our Open Days, where we can assess what level you’re at and advise you on suitable courses. Enrolling on our Gateway to Learning course can also help you decide what your goals are and how you can achieve them.
Gaining a full Level 2 qualification
We aim to help everyone who comes to Fircroft the opportunity to achieve a full Level 2 qualification, which is recognised by all employers. In order to build up enough ‘credits’ to gain this qualification, you are likely to need to complete a number of courses in different subject areas.
When you enrol at Fircroft, we can work with you do develop an individual learning plan, identifying the courses you need to undertake to achieve your goals and to gain a Level 2 qualification.
