Fircroft College
How to get to Fircroft College
By Road (from the M6 via M1 from London)
From the M6 take Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction). Take the M38 Aston Expressway into Birmingham City Centre through the Queensway Tunnel which takes you onto the Bristol Road (A38).
Continue south along the Bristol Road for approximately five miles. You will pass Birmingham University on your right. Drive through Selly Oak, past Sainsbury's, also on your right, and go straight through the traffic lights at the main crossroads of Selly Oak.
Approximately half a mile after the crossroads, you will pass Elmfield House on your left. Continue downhill and our entrance is after the next pedestrian crossing. The driveway is slightly concealed and easily missed. We therefore advise you to reduce your speed as soon as you start to go downhill.
Please note: Drivers using their satnav may be guided to the housing estate at the rear of the college (Kingfisher Way/Selly Wood Road). There is no access to Fircroft College from this estate, only via Bristol Road (A38).
By Road (from the M42)
From the M42, take Junction 1 (not M42/M5 interchange). Turn north on to the A38 and follow this for approximately seven miles. You will pass Bournville College and go through Northfield's shopping area.
Look for an overhead footbridge and Woodbrooke College on the right. On seeing Woodbrooke College, immediately move in to the right-hand lane and turn right at the next exit. Fircroft College's entrance is directly opposite this exit.
Please note: Drivers using their satnav may be guided to the housing estate at the rear of the college (Kingfisher Way/Selly Wood Road). There is no access to Fircroft College from this estate, only via Bristol Road (A38).

As you alight from the bus, turn right to walk down the hill going in the same direction as if you were driving. You will walk past George Cadbury Hall and the Charles W. Gillett Centre, after which Fircroft is the next turning on the left.
By Taxi
From Birmingham City Centre/New Street Train Station (NOT Birmingham International) by Taxi:
The taxi fare from Birmingham City Centre/New Street Station is approximately £12. When giving the driver the address, point out that Fircroft College is around a mile past Sainsbury's in Selly Oak on Bristol Road.
The entrance to Fircroft College is on the left side of the road and is quite concealed, so be careful not to miss it.
By Train

You can catch a local train from New Street Station to Selly Oak Station. From Selly Oak Station it is a short bus ride, on either the 61, 62X or 63 buses (see above).
It is also possible to catch a taxi from Selly Oak Station, or to walk which will take 15-20 minutes. If you do walk, turn left out of the station on to the Bristol Road, walking away from the City towards Northfield.

You will walk past Sainsbury's on the opposite side of the road, then through the main Selly Oak crossroads, past Central House of Selly Oak Colleges, then George Cadbury Hall and, finally, the Gillett Centre which is directly next to the Fircroft College entrance/drive.
